I came very close to letting April pass me by on the blog sphere.
Life has been busy, too busy with good things, stressful things,
and on top of it all, I managed to catch a late-Spring flu. I'm
at home completely drained....rarely have I ever been this drained.
Even during flu season when I have to stay home from work I can
still manage to do house chores. But this flu, it's different.
It drains me and my whole body aches. After getting the
kids and everyone out the door, I lay on my couch curled up in tha
coccoon and fell asleep for another hour. Waking up, I am sore
and even more tired. So finally at 10am, I peel myself off the
couch to put in a load of laundry and post this blog. I hate
feeling this useless and unproductive. Resting up from an illness
make me feel like I'm completely wasting time. But I guess
sometimes, patience is the real lesson. I need the rest. I
So here is my compromise, rest while writing a
blog post. So here is how we spent our spring break this year, we
went to Mammoth with Grandma and Grandpa. I was completely
bracing for huge crowds given all the snow we've had from this atmospheric river phenomenon
this year. However, I discovered that Los Angeles staggers their
spring breaks so different school districts are off different weeks.
We don't belong to the LA school district so we were actually off
a few weeks earlier than them. Mammoth was glorious! There
were just enough people to feel cozy but not enough to make parking
frustrating. The kids had so much fun. This is Buzz's third
time skiing and he is coming down blue hills all by himself without
falling. This is Ahgoo's second time and she had fun being
trained by Grandpa and Daddy. We also went over to June Mountain
where the kids can ski for free. I hung out with my MIL and
enjoyed lunch and coffee. It was all very relaxing. The
amount of snow was amazing, many homes were still completely buried
under snow, only their roofs were showing. The kids also had a
grand old time on the free gondola from Mammoth lodge down to the
village. Enjoy the pictures below.
