................................................................................................................................................................................
For
the past week my BIL and his family visited us all the way from
Chicago. Buzz and Ahgoo have been enjoying some serious play time
with their 2 year old cousin. So with three kids, ages 3, 2, and
1, running around the house, Toby has been trying to stay out of the
way. Except of course during meal time. Toby would hover
under the dinner table to catch his occasional windfall. However,
with every windfall there comes risks. Mr. BAW discovered
something hilarious that can only happen to Toby. Toby got up
from lying on the floor to get a drink of water when Mr. BAW noticed
something stuck to his tail. Upon closer inspection, it was a
Made In Italy tag! Haha! I still can not figure out what we
have in the house that is made in Italy. By the way, this isn't
the first time that strange things have gotten stuck on Toby. |

Even
though I grew up in LA I am amazed that there are still places
I've yet to discover. That's what I love about LA. Yes, LA
is full of tourist traps and crowded places that are full of people
from all over the world at any time of the year. But there are
also tons of little gems that if you look closer, you'll discover and
enjoy visiting. Most recently, I discovered a little place called
Greystone Mansion
in Beverly Hills. It is advertised as a park because the mansion
itself it not opened to the public. The place is owned by the
city of Beverly Hills and the grounds are opened to the public.
However, they have rules against picnics and professional
photography. They do have free parking so that's a definite plus.
However, in the summer months they often have weddings on
the weekends and certain parts of the park will be off limits.
When we were there these snooty wedding people tried to tell us
to leave even though they only blocked off parts of the park.
Hey, I'm used to dealing with snooty people so they didn't scare
us away. But I would avoid going there in the summer time and
just go again to see the whole park in the winter time. Besides
snooty wedding people, there were a few locals who were taking a jog
through the park, they were very nice people and said "Hi" to us.
Overall, it's a beautiful little park and I recommend visiting if
you're in the neighborhood. But I wouldn't go out of my way to
drive there. Our kids enjoyed running around the open spaces and
I enjoyed taking a few pics of them. :-) | |

I
am always impressed by well designed products that are both functional
and attractive. Recently I discovered two such products.
The first is from, not surprisingly, the Japanese. I found
these in the Japanese dollar store called Daiso.
I love this place, mostly for the fact that they have so many
random things for your home from kitchen to bathroom. I've even
gotten Mr. BAW ties there before...and yes, they are $1.50 each!!
Great place to pick up gifts for Father's Day for the kids using
their own money! :-) But I digress, getting back to the product
of the blog. I recently discovered these adorable little silicon
drinking cups! They fold up into a flat disc that then fits into
a plastic lid, all are top-rack dishwasher-safe! There's even a
little loop for hooking it onto your purse or backpack. They are
plyable so they are great for toddlers learning how to drink from a
cup. They can even stand on their own! I picked up a few to
toss into our coolers and my purse for when we go out with the kids.
This way we can all share a bottle of drinking water without
having to worry about backwash! :-) Haha. I even keep
one in my office for the occasional water cooler drink. The second product I love is the stacking pyramid by Janod.
Ahgoo got it as a birthday gift from our friends. She's at
the age where she loves to put things into other things. These
stacking boxes are perfect for her to hold and walk around with.
They are just cardboard boxes with cute animals printed on them.
They are numbered from 1 to 10, 1 being the largest.
Simple, lightweight, and cute. The container also has a
strap for carrying around the house. What else does a toddler
girl need? :-) The best of all though, is that her brother isn't
at all interested in the boxes! | These little cups come in three cute colors!
| They are a little flimsy but can still stand on their own.
| Ahgoo's favorite thing to do, putting things into other things.
| She even likes the box container! :-)
