When we found out that we're having a little girl, we were overjoyed.  So the hunt for a name and cute outfits begin.  We both knew that the name search was going to be tough but I never thought that buying clothes was going to be just as hard!  We're going to stick to our minimalist ways and only buy what is necessary.  However, even buying a few key pieces proved to be difficult.  I have never been a girly-girl and dislike frilly and overly pink things.  When I walk into a children's clothing store, I am overwhelmed by the girls' section.  All that puff, pink, and flowers take the oxygen out of me and I get dizzy.  So weeks go by and still, no purchase of any kind.  Guess who came to the rescue?  Mr. BAW!!  We took a trip to the local mall and as I stood amid tons of pink and flowers trying to catch my breath when Mr. BAW presented this adorable blue dress to me.  It was not pink nor floral!  I will never doubt his ability to find cute clothes for both of our babies again!  Our little girl will be proud to learn that her Daddy bought her her very first dress!  I wonder if Mr. BAW will be one of those fathers who goes wedding shopping with his daughter.  We also found two other pieces of clothing for Baby Girl, a cream onesie and a pink (yes, pink) stripe side snap onesie.  Now that she has a few cute outfits, we'll have to keep working on her name!

We have so much to be thankful for this year.  Though we lost a loved one, we are thankful for being able to spend a wonderful Thanksgiving with Uncle Don's family.  We had absolutely beautiful weather.  The skies were bright and warm.  Of course, there was no shortage of amazing food.  Mr. BAW comes frome a long line of bakers and cooks.  So between him, his cousin, and aunt, we had 7 different sides (sweet bread, cream of spinach, mash potato, mash sweet potato, cranberry sauce, corn pudding, and stuffing) and a 19lb turkey!  We even had appetizers before dinner including stuffed mushrooms, hummus with peppers and carrots, three kinds of cheese with crackers, and a fruit salad.  Oh and let's not forget dessert.  Mr. BAW's cousin made two pies, a traditional pumpkin pie and (my favorite) a yummy cranberry tart.   Amazingly, we managed to eat all the leftovers within three days after Thanksgiving.   Tonight, I even asked Mr. BAW to bake me two apple pies, one for my parents and one for us.   I love holiday food!  And with a little portion control, I was even able to stay within my glucose level through all this eating.  :-)  Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

It was such a beautiful Thanksgiving day that Baby took a walk with his Aunt "Nina" (Christina) down to see some horses.

This cranberry tart was seriously delicious!!

Um...nothing says comfort like warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream.

Today we lost a dear uncle and friend.  For the last few years Toby and I have been fortunate enough to have gotten to know him through Mr. BAW.  He was an intelligent and kind-hearted man.  He shared with me a passion for Golden Retrievers and loved Toby like his own beloved dog.  We will miss you very much, Uncle Don.

I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving!!  What happened to November??  Since we've been getting some cooler weather, it rained last weekend, it's defnitely starting to feel like the holiday season.  Especially when Christmas decorations are starting to pop up all over town.  Last weekend, Mr. BAW's friend visited us from Arizona.  Baby took an instant liking to his "Uncle Mike!"  In fact, he idolizes Uncle Mike.  He loved playing with Mike and loves just randomly yelling "Uncle Mike!!"  We took Mike all over town, to the Farmer's Market and the Grove, to Umami Burger in Santa Monica, Hermosa Beach, and we even took a quick trip down to San Diego to meet up with Mr. BAW's cousin for dinner.  We were extremely lucky to avoid the rain in LA and in SD.  The Grove was going to have a Christmas tree lighting ceremony the next day so the place was all decked out in Christmas gear.   I am definitely starting to get into the holiday mood.  I especially love the window display of a vintage store in Hermosa Beach (see picture below).

Baby took an instant liking to his "Uncle Mike!"

Farmer's Market in LA.

The Grove all decked out for the tree lighting ceremony.

The HUGE tree, awaiting the lighting ceremony.

The gingerbread house.

Baby was not too impressed with this giant ice cream cone.

I LOVE this store window...puts me in an instant Christmas mood!

Mike got to see this gorgeous sunset before leaving LA.

Mr. BAW is a huge fan of Halloween.  We usually throw some kind of party in honor of the holiday.  This year, however, we were completely busy with travels and commitments.  Plus, work and pregnancy just took the rest of my energy away.  So we decided to forgo the party but I didn't want to take Halloween away from Baby.  I thought long and hard about what to dress Baby up as this year.  Last year he was Superman, per his Daddy's request.  This year, I decided on turning him into his best friend, Buzz Lightyear.  His Grandmother got him a Buzz Lightyear stuffed doll which he absolutely adores.  He can spot Buzz from a mile away, on DVD covers, on TV, in pictures, etc.  The costume would be easy to make, all I have to do is find a set of white sweat shirt and get colored felt to make the buttons and embellishments to sew on.  I even managed to make him the purple hat using felt.  Since the weather has been chilly, wearing a sweat suit would be perfect.  Plus, the costume would feel just like wearing regular clothes.  Baby is still young and I wanted him to be comfortable in his outfit.  We took him out trick or treating in our neighborhood and at Palos Verdes.  He was so tired by the end of the evening that he did the last portion of the trick or treating in his stroller.  :-)  That evening, I let him sleep in his costume.

My hero!!

It's a GIRL!!!  We're going to have a little girl!  We're both still in shock.  I had been nervous about finding out the sex of our baby for months now.  I think it's because this will be our last baby and everything seems so final!  Since we already have a boy, it would be nice to have a girl.  But we would've been happy to have another boy.  But we're super happy to discover that we will have a little girl afterall!  We told Baby that he's going to have a baby sister and he's been practicing saying "baby siser."  It's too cute.  I think Toby is very happy too, especially since Baby's been climbing all over him these days.

Now that we know, it's time to seriously come up with names and clean up all the infant boy clothes to pass along to our friends.   Otherwise, everything else we have is pretty gender-neutral so we can reuse all the baby gears.  That does not mean that I won't be making a few new purchases like some cute infant outfits...:-)

Our little girl at 19 weeks.
