We took Baby to the Irvine Park for some pumpkin-picking fun!!
This is Baby's second Halloween and pumpkin picking experience
and what a difference a year makes?! He's much more interactive
and even picked out his own pumpkin. The Irvine Park pumpkin patch
also has tons of things to do including a hay maze, a haunted house, a
kiddy train ride, hay ride, and pony rides. They even have a John
Deer Tractor race for older kids. Baby was too young to
participate but he was completely mesmerized by the race and stood
there watching it for five minutes until we dragged him away screaming.
I guess there's a lot of Grandpa in him! His Grandpa is a
huge auto racing fan. The maze and haunted house are free
activites but the hay ride, pony rides, and train ride are extra.
We decided to do the train ride this time but I must say that it
was not worth the 45-minute wait and $4 per person fee! We even
had to pay for Baby since he's over one year old. They only have
one train and each train runs for 15 minutes. By the time we got
to go on the train, Baby was exhausted and cranky from the wait and the
ride was underwhelming. Next time, we will try the hay ride since
that line was much shorter and the ride looked much cooler.
Other than that, we had a blast and the weather was fantastic, right at
~80 degrees by the afternoon. Enjoy our pics!

| My two favorite brains!! | |
| The long awaited train ride!! The wait was longer than a Disneyland ride!! | |
| Baby loved this hay horse. | |
| Baby couldn't take his eyes off of this Tractor race. | |
| The Haunted House, it was cute and even stroller friendly!! | |
| The Hay Maze, where's Baby going?? | |

Happy
Friday! It's been foggy and generally gloomy in LA today and there's a
sense of Autumn in the air. These kinds of days make me particularly
pensive...not in any productive way, but rather sort of random. Here
are a few thoughts that popped into my mind:
- The other day, I told Baby that there's a baby in my growing belly.
Ever since then, he's been pointing at my belly and saying "Baby!"
He'll even try to lift my shirt up to look at the baby! It's too cute.
But he'll still point at himself when I ask him who's Baby? Eventually,
he'll have to relinquish that title to his little sibling. Maybe I
should introduce the word "Toddler" to him...
- A month ago, we were strolling through Second Street in Long Beach
one evening with Baby happily sitting in his stroller. As ususal, he
was not wearing socks or shoes, insisting on taking them off earlier. A
random woman came up to us on the street and asked if she can touch
Baby's feet because they are "sooooo cute!" It's only now that I think
back and feel very odd about it!
- If an Arnold Palmer is half lemonade and half ice tea, then an Amy
should be half lemonade and half 7 UP. That's what I sometimes request
in restaurants.
- I also like to mix my salad dressing, half Ranch and half Italian, to get the perfect mix of tartness and creaminess.
- I've scoured the internet for litterally thousands of baby girl
names and have not like a single name. Any suggestions?? How about
"Chemistry" or "Rhapsody?" I've always thought that if I was a crazy,
rich, ditzy movie actress that I would name my daughters Chemistry and
Rhapsody. Both of those words have good meanings. Their nicknames can
be Chemy and Sody...kinda cute huh?
- We're still waiting to find out if we're having a girl or a boy,
but I'm just planning ahead. Obviously, we have a boy name lined up,
just not a good girl name.
- What do I want for Christmas?
- What's a good scary movie to watch on Halloween, sans the kid of
course?! I have very high movie standards, especially in the horror
genre.
- The other night, Mr. BAW told me that when I discover a new blog to
read, it's like when he discovers a new show to watch on TV...hm...an
interesting analogy.
- Baby brain has officially kicked in. Often, I'd stand in the middle
of the room wondering what I was looking for, or struggling to remember
what emergency I had to tell Mr. BAW as he stares blankly at me, or
standing in the grocery aisle wondering what was it that I needed in
that section because I lost my sticky list. (Actually that last item is
just my normal self, as my friend TNK will tell you!)

There is nothing on this Etsy shop called Edor
I don't love. I've always love dainty jewelry. My mother
used to tell me that she can barely see my earings and bracelets
because the things I wore were tiny. But there's something
elegant about understated adornment. It's comfortable to wear and
elegant in a simple way. I've been eyeing this bracelet for a
while now. Hm...isn't Christmas coming?? I wouldn't mind
any of the silver necklaces in the shop either. I have not
actually ordered anything from the site yet so I can't comment on the
reliability of the vendor but everything she makes it pretty affordable
so it shouldn't be too risky to buy from this shop. The seller is
from Los Angeles and she has over 4000 positive feedbacks.

We
took a quick trip to Seattle last weekend. Mr. BAW had a business
trip and Baby and I tagged along. We've always wanted to visit
the city so we took the opportunity. Unfortunately, due to my
pregnancy, I was not able to fully enjoy two things that make Seattle
famous, fresh raw seafood and amazing coffee!! But I managed to
still enjoy the trip. We were extremely lucky to get four full
days of dry weather. We got to take a ferry to Bainbridge Island
and visited University of Washington. We even got a glimpse of Mt.
Rainier on our ferry ride!! It only rained that last day of our
stay so we got tons of sight-seeing in. I found that Seattle is a
city much like San Francisco, but with less hills and more mellow
people. It's like a low brow SF. The only thing that was
unexpected for me was the large number of smokers in the city.
Enjoy some of my pictures from the trip.

days of seeing me take pictures, Baby decided that he needed a camera
too! So he improvised and used his favorite matchbox car!
Hm...looks like someone needs a camera for Christmas... |

Meet
our newest little addition! We are expecting again! I'm 15
weeks along and are doing well this second time around. Life is
certainly crazy these days, with work being super busy and our October
calendar is filling up fast. Thankfully, I've had no issues with
this pregnancy thus far. I've only had one round of morning
sickness. We told Baby that he's going to be a big brother!
We haven't told Toby yet, but we're sure he'll be happy that
there'll be someone else to keep Baby busy. What's different this
second time? I am showing much sooner! By the second month,
a few co-workers of mine actually suspected that I was pregnant, one
male co-worker even asked me point blank if I was pregnant!! I
also felt the baby move much sooner, at 14 weeks to be exact!
Last time I first felt the baby move at 17 weeks. Lastly,
my cravings are completely different this time. With the first
pregnancy, all I wanted was sweets! I literally had a milk shake
everyday. I also needed to eat a small candy bar each night
before bed! This time, all I crave are spicy foods. I want
a bowl of hot and spicy noodle all the time. I spike my chicken
with hot sauce, I add spicy peppers to my sandwiches, and I even eat
pickled peppers! So I'm wondering if this means that we'll be
having a girl. We'll be happy with either another boy or a girl
but if I could choose, I'd like one each. We're definitely going
to find out the sex of the baby as soon as possible. We're super
excited either way and we can't wait to meet our little bundle of joy.
Oh, and the due date? It's April 1, 2012, no fooling!
