................................................................................................................................................................................
On our three-day weekend, we took a little day trip to the town of Temecula
along with my In-laws who were visiting us. My In-laws had been
there before but it was my first time there. This little town
southeast of LA is full of charm! My favorite part of
Temecula are the cute little boutiques including a lavender shop, a
beautiful gift shop, and an olive oil store. We even participated
in an olive oil tasting which was actually a lot of fun. I never
knew how many different flavors one can infuse into olive oil.
Our favorite was a blood orange olive oil and the basil olive oil
so we bought a bottle of each. If you happend to be in the area,
swing by the little town, you'll be charmed. Enjoy my pictures
from our little day trip. | Welcome to the charming town of Temecula!

| Chocolate covered olives!! I love olives, I love chocolates, but together?? Hm....
| This is life in Temecula!
| This store blew my mind, it was such a beautiful gift shop. I could've spent all day in there! | I love the rustic display in this little store corner.
| These rock dogs are amazingly life-like, they are all hand painted!
| A beautiful train mural at the public parking lot. Buzz loved it!

This
little guy is my new office mate. I pick him up from Costco one
night. His purpose is to keep me warm at work. He's
actually a thermal-aid bear
and you can throw him into the microwave, which happens to be right
outside my office. I use him to keep me warm when the AC gets out
of control at work. :-) I used to have a space heater in my
office at my old job. But those things are not allowed in my
current work environment. Of course I've gotten a few strange
looks from my co-workers (most of them are men) when they come by my
office and see me holding teddy on my lap. I've even threatened
to bring him to meetings if they give me trouble. :-) Haha!

Happy
Chinese New Year!!! The Year of the Dragon has come to an end but
the mighty dragon does not go away quietly. We've had a series of
bad luck lately including a couple of cases of the flu, a few caotic
moments at work, unexplained technical issues with my computer, issues
with our cable box, mix up with my mother's traditional Chinese New
Year family meal, and even a hail storm to boot! I would describe
the last few weeks of the Year of the Dragon as a swipe of the dragon's
tail! As the Year of the Dragon comes to a close, I am reminded that my little dragon girl
is going to be one soon!! I can't believe how quickly time flies.
My father often calls Ahgoo after a famous Chinese novel
character " Little Dragon Maiden."
She lives up to that nickname these days as she becomes more and
more feisty each day! At 10 months old, she can already walk
while holding onto something. She also loves to climb, grab
things, and bang on things. She also recently learned how to clap
and claps whenever she hears music or someone saying "yay!" The new year will be the Year of the Snake!
I am very excited for my friend TNK who is expecting her second
child in the Year of the Snake. Her new baby will share the same
Chinese zodiac sign as her! We can't wait to meet the new Baby
Snake in a few more months. :-) Happy Chinese New Year to
everyone! | Ahgoo's first Chinese New Year! Having fun with Ah Poh at our family lunch.

The
flu season this year has been kicking my butt! Just a week after
recovering from the flu, the stomach flu hits our family. This
time, it's mostly Buzz and I. Poor little guy has a tummy ache
and isn't as peppy as he normally is. I had a fever and stomach
cramps but thankfully nothing worse. As you can imagine, blogging
has not been on my mind. But I do want to capture another amazing
experience I had back in December so that I can always look back and
remember the event. As you recall, Mr. BAW and TNK threw me a
huge 40th surprise party back in November. But my real
birthday is in December. So Mr. BAW took me to Providence
for a wonderful birthday dinner on my birthday. I also have to
thank my BIL and his wife for giving us a giftcard to the restaurant.
With their gift, we had a truly unique dinner, one that any foody
would love to experience! We got to try white truffles and Waygu Beef
for the very first time! We LOVED the white truffles. They
brought it out in a wooden box and shaved it onto the risotto
tableside. The truffles smelled like very strong garlic but taste
much more sweet and subtle. The Wygu beef was perfectly marbled
with fat so when you bite down the meat just explodes in your mouth and
the sweetness is amazing. Overall, it was a unique experience,
fitting to ring in my next decade! | Nothing makes a girl feel more special than a personalized menu! | We got to try white truffles for the first time. The truffles were served tableside out of a wooden box!

| Waygu Beef and lobster, our version of the surf and turf! :-)
