Happy Father's Day!!  Here's two of our favorite fathers in the world.  We also know a few good friends of ours who are Fathers-to-be.  Congratulations to all of them and we're sure they'll make wonderful fathers.  :-)

Our dear Grandma passed away yesterday morning at the age of 92.  We already miss her so much.  She's been Mr. BAW's doting Grandmother for 34 years.  I've recently been lucky enough to have gotten to know her the past year.  She was the ever caring woman who loved to cook and feed her grandkids.  She was an amazing cook and Mr. BAW inherited his love of cooking from her and his mother.  I've been the lucky receipient of all of Grandma's wonderful recipes.

This is Grandma with her loving husband, Vern, at our recent wedding back in September 2008.  We were so lucky to have them attend our wedding.  She participated in all of our wedding activities including the Chinese Tea Ceremony, walking down the asle, and dancing!  We are all greatful for those fond memories of her.

We will always have wonderful memories of you Grandma.  We all love you very much!

Last weekend we had special guests visiting from San Francisco, it was Toby's cousin Jack and his parents!  Little Jack and his parents stayed with us for two days and we all spent a wonderful time in San Diego.  We visited museums at Balboa Park

So where were Toby and Jack when we were visiting museums?  They got to spend the day at my cousins-in-laws' beautiful home in San Juan Capistrano!  My CILs had a Golden Retriever for years and they just love dogs.  We were lucky to have them dog-sit the two critters for the day.  Here's Toby and Jack resting at their house.  Everyone got along swimmingly.  :-)

This was also the first time Jack got to fly on an airplane!  He was a brave boy and did extremely well in the cabin.  Toby thinks Jack's such a jet-setter!

Check out our adventurous weekend here, at Jack's website.

Back, by popular demand, the comments section of my blog is enabled again!  Woohoo!  Now folks can tell me exactly how they feel about my random thoughts.  Hm...this can be dangerous!  But go ahead and leave us a message.  Toby would love to hear from you, especially if its anything complementary.  :-)

Happy Thursday, and remember, the pen is mightier than the sword!

What do you think?  Uncanny resemblance huh?  This is Dug, an adorable Golden Retriever from Pixar's movie Up.  We went to see the movie this weekend and it turned out to be a surprisingly deep movie.  Granted, the second part of the movie was geared towards the younger crowd with the typical action and nail-biting stunts.  But the first part of the movie was a tear-jerker.  In fact, I cried at two places in the movie.  The underlying love story is extremely touching.  But of course my favorite part of the movie is this adorable Toby-lookalike, a chubby Golden Retriever, Dug.

Yes, this is a peacock.  No, we were not at a zoo.  Believe it or not, this is a wild peacock we saw roaming aournd someone's front yard in Palos Verdes!  Then we saw three more just walking along the side walk of a residential street.  One was perched atop someone's balcony.

Supposedly, many many years ago, some rich people brought back some peacocks for exotic pets and somehow they escaped or something and have now become wild birds roaming the hills of Palos Verdes.  We live about a mile or so north of where they roam and so we have not seen any in our area.

Apparently, they are quite the trouble makers, eating flowers and making too much noise at times.  But they sure are beautiful looking birds!  And to just see them roaming around like pigeons is quite an amazing sight.  Unfortunately we were driving by in a car when I saw them and this is the only non-blurry picture I got of a peacock.

Well after years of watching Conan O'Brien at midnight (yeah that was when I was an irresponsible grad student and before they had DVRs) we've finally snatched him from NY!  Yes, we loved all of his antics and strange segments from Late Night that only makes sense after midnight.  Who can forget Triumph the Insult Dog?  Yes, I was excited that the more mature folks who go to bed way too early to catch Late Night can now watch what the late nighters have long enjoyed.  However, I was a little bit surprised by all of the changes NBC made to The Tonight Show for Conan.  They've basically remade the set from Late Night to replace The Tonight Show set.  They've also brought Andy Richter back, which I thought was unnecessary.  He's also forgo the hand-shaking with the audience that was a big part of The Tonight Show.  It is essentially Late Night but earlier.  I was hoping to see the blend of the two shows, more in keeping with The Tonight Show format but with the flare of Conan O'Brien.  Well, we'll see how the new audience likes the earlier Late Night.  I've not watched the new Late Night with Jimmy Fallon so I don't know if they changed anything to accommodate him.  But I gotta say, Jimmy has extremely large shoes to fill, Conan O'Brien is about 6'4".

Hi Honey, I know we already have a very large furry creature sleeping on our bed every night, but can we also get one of these adorable furry baby sheep??  Pllleeeaaase!!!

Ok, maybe we can't keep a sheep at the house.  But it doesn't make this little guy any less cute!  Check out the birth of Alabama here!  He's so cute, especially in his very own little sweater.  He belongs to a wool farm where they raise and breed flocks of sheep and goats.

Alabama looks so cozy and warm that he makes me want to start knitting again.  The weather in LA is certainly fine for knitting these days as June Gloom is in full bloom.  We even got some drizzle yesterday!  We're expecting out of town guests this weekend and I'm hoping that the weather will improve by Saturday.

She said "Yes!"  Congratulations to these crazy kids on making it official!  My BIL is getting married and we couldn't be happier for him.

Now comes the planning of the big day!  What a great way to get Summer started. :-)

Happy June everyone.
