Happy holidays. I really feel that we need more weeks in
December. Although I'm pretty close to being done with all of my
presents and are working on sending out Christmas cards, I still feel
stressed. There are still potlucks and holiday lunches to attend.
There's also that birthday party to plan. I really wish
that I can have some time to enjoy the holiday season and not let all
the obligations take away from the fun. So last weekend, after
paying my parents a visit, we took the kids over to Pasadena to see
some of the Christmas lights and festive storefronts in Old Town.
Following Yelp's recommendation, we ate dinner at La Grande Orange Cafe
Once again, 2000 people were right, the food was fantastic!
The best part is that they have a great children's menu for $5.
Their short ribs were fabulous and they valet for parking.
We're definitely going back.
After our dinner, we walked down the street to the famous Stats
for some Christmas cheer. That store is an institution in
Southern California. As a kid, I remember hearing about the crazy
lines of people waiting to buy Christmas decorations the day after
Christmas. Yet, I've never been there before! Until last
weekend! Wow, the place is crazy. All I can say is, if you
love Christmas decorations, it's a must visit. The kids had fun
posing for pictures. :-) We walked out empty handed, but hearts
full of cheer.
