I
LOVE to eat pomegranates but the whole process of eating it usually
takes me a while. Plus, I'd usually end up staining my shirt at
some point because a seed would break during my extraction process and
squirt me. I usually just cut the fruit in half, losing tons of
juice on the cutting board, and spend a long time just peeling slowly
away at the white stuff to get to the delicate seeds. But I
discovered this woman's instructions
and WOW, extracting the seeds have never been easier!! I did have
some trouble finding all the ridges, but in actuality, you just have to
locate one ridge. Just the fact that you slice off the top and
bottom of the fruit and scoring the sides makes it easy to break open
the fruit. I managed to extract every single seed without
breaking even one! My cutting board was completely stainfree and
so was my white shirt! The whole process also only took about 5
minutes! I then enjoyed my pomegranate with a spoon. :-)
I love it when a process works. | |

It's amazing how quickly time flies!
Even though things have been super busy, the days just seem to
blend together.
In a few weeks, Buzz will turn 3!!! Our
little guy will be a big boy and we're working on potty training him.
Amazingly, I've been pretty relaxed about the whole thing.
I am actually not in a hurry to get rid of diapers just yet.
Maybe because I still see him as my baby. But Mr. BAW has
been working hard to potty train him. Buzz has actually been
making pretty good progress. With the help of school, he's been
having less accidents each day. He's been very good about telling
us that he needs to go pee pee. Last Saturday, he's diaper stayed
dry the entire day. I'm sure it'll be a few more months before
he's fully potty trained, but we're making very good progress.
Buzz is also eating very well these days. He had been a
super picky eater but thanks again to school, he's learned to eat more
foods beyond pasta and bread, granted Mac n' Cheese is still his
favorite food. One night while watching Toy Story 3, Buzz yelled,
"He's a quesadilla!" when Mr. Potato Head used a tortilla for his
facial parts. It was very cute to hear him say "quesadilla."
Ahgoo
is also making great gains developmentally. She's now very
chatty. She'll "talk" to me the whole way home from daycare, "Da
da, da dada da!" She also loves to eat. We started her on
solids a month ago. I am once again making all her food.
She's now eating three meals a day in addition to breast feeding.
She is eating chicken, turkey, pork, carrots, squash, spinach,
broccoli, and peas. I mix two vegetables and one meat to make
different meals for her. She LOVES all of the meals so far.
Developmentally, she's also become extremely attached to me.
If I'm around, she HAS to be with me, I can't even be out of her
sight without her screaming and crying at the top of her lungs!
No one else can hold her if I'm around. She won't even sit
in her bouncer or high chair if I'm near, she'd want me to hold her all
the time. When I have to bathe Buzz, she'll cry the entire time
until I can hold her again. It does wear on me after a while.
But I know this won't last so I'm trying to enjoy cuddling with
her as much as possible.
We're also working on getting
our Christmas cards out and finishing up Christmas shopping. I'm
also working on Buzz's upcoming birthday party. I hope I'll be
able to still have time to enjoy the holiday season. We're going
to see if we can catch Santa Claus for the kids this week. Happy
December! | |
