While in Virginia, we visited a small town called Middleburg.  It is a most charming little town and we had a chance to eat lunch at the beautiful Red Fox Inn and Tavern.  Though we only had a few hours to see the town, we enjoyed it thoroughly.  Immediately after we headed back to our car after our sight-seeing tour, it started to rain!  Enjoy my pictures below.

A lovely little cafe and ice cream shop!  This was the kids' favorite spot in town.

I love these charming buildings.

The Red Fox Inn and Tavern.

An adorable little herb garden!!

The fabulous Home Farm Store.

They even have an old-fashion soda fountain ice cream shop on the second story.

The lovely main street.

A beautiful garden along main street.

Strolling with the Grandparents.

Mr. BAW and I had a business trip to DC and decided to meet my In-Laws in Dulles so they can watch the kids for us while we attended our meetings.  We got to see a little bit of charming Virginia and I want to share some pictures of our visit of the Oatlands Mansion and Garden.  We were lucky to avoid rain during our garden tour and I got to take a few nice pictures to share with you.

Ahgoo loves dandelions!

Beautiful Dogwood flowers.

The quiet pool.

The kids discovered a resting place.

A sweet moment with Grandma.

Even the birds had their own mansion.

I loved the fragrant Lily of the Valley.

More beautiful Dogwood trees.

Not a bad place for a dog to rest.

May continues to be a scorcher!  We took a break from the heatwave that's been hovering over LA with a business trip to DC.  But when we returned, the heat has not left!  I'll be sharing with you our family/business trip to DC once I sort out the pictures.  In the mean time, I want to catch up and wish our little Toby a happy be-lated twelve birthday!  He spent his twelve birthday with our Aunt while we were on our DC trip.  The kids are starting to see Toby more and more as another family member and Ahgoo will ask me where he is if she doesn't see him.  We are all very lucky to have Toby and I love that he is the most gentle creature I've ever known.  I also want to wish our favorite mothers a be-lated happy Mother's Day.  Each day, as I live and breathe my role as a mother, I appreciate our mothers even more.

Our little Toby turned twelve!!

My favorite mothers.

These two rascals elevated me to the status of mother and I love them for that.

We started May off with a heatwave.  It has been HOT, even along the coast.  By hot, I mean it's been in the high 80's along the coast.  So I can't even imagine how hot it has been for folks in the Valley.  It's been so hot that the kids haven't even gotten waterplay at school because it's been too hot to go outside!  So today, after we all got off from work and school, we took the kids down to the beach for some fun.

Sandals and sand.

Digging and shoveling.

 It was a beautiful day.

Perfect sailing day.

Cooling down from the seabreeze.

Last look before leaving the beach.
