Happy Easter! This is Baby hunting
for eggs at daycare. We got him this perfect little basket for holding
his findings. He had a blast hunting for Easter eggs.

Why does Toby have such a big smile
on his face? It's because I took him out on an hour-long walk on his
favorite trail on my Friday off last week. Baby was at daycare and Mr.
BAW was at work. It has been almost a month since I've had a couple
of free hours just for Toby. It was like old times, just the two of
us. Sometimes I wonder if Toby remembers much of his puppyhood, when
it was just him and I living in Brentwood, then Redondo Beach. On our
walk last Friday, he even got into his crazy puppy mood and ran around in
circles for about 30 seconds, just like he used to do!! :-) I look forward
to more Fridays with Toby as we get into warmer weather.

We had our first
Summer teaser today! It was a whopping 85 degrees at the beach and
the rest of LA was hovering at around 95!! I loved every minute of this
mini heat wave. It won't last long, tomorrow the temperature will supposedly
drop by 15 degrees. So we took advantage of the warm evening and took
Baby out to the LA
Farmers Market and The
Grove for some outdoor dining and shopping. There was live music
and tons of people out. We had a fantastic time and Baby thoroughly
tired himself out by running around and even attempted to play with other
kids. I look forward to the start of Summer!

Sometimes I'm a bit old-school. Instead of some fancy GPS system
that speaks to you condescendingly, I like to look at a good old fashion
map and decide my own route. I still keep a Thomas Guide
in my car just in case all the electronics die on me.
Up until a couple of months ago, I was happily using an old flip phone
that worked great as a phone. One day, my 65-year-old co-worker came
into my office to chat about work. He saw my flip phone and laughed,
"Is THAT your phone?!" I went home and told Mr. BAW about it and
he told me that I really should get a smart phone, he's had the iphone
for about a year now. I guess he's been trying to tell me that my phone
is embarrassing! So I reluctantly let him drag me into the 21st century
and got an iphone as well.
How do I like the iphone? Well, it's been good. I do love
that I can access the internet to look up things. I love using Google
Maps to get instant routes to restuarants, markets, or any other location
I need to find. I've even downloaded a few aps like the Translator
and an addictive game of Boggle. However, the iphone should
be renamed the i-do-everything-but-sucks-as-a-phone. The volume is
horrible when you are on the speaker mode. We use speaker phone often
when we're talking to family. Even with the volume cranked up at the
highest level it is still impossible to hear very well. So one day I
came upon a tip in a magazine to put the phone into a ceramic bowl when on
speaker mode. This will magnify the volume by concentrating the sound
waves. We try it out and it really works!! I also found this
tip at this website along with tons of other nifty tips! My favorite
is using the washing machine as a drink chiller by filling it with ice
and using lollipops as drink stirrers! We'll have to use these tips
for our next dinner party!

Wow, I can't believe we're in April
already! I just don't know where the time went! Life has just
been so busy that I look forward to getting a good night's sleep every evening.
Blogging, sorry to say, has been less appealing than getting an
extra half an hour of sleep. I do wish I have more time to blog because
I have so much to share with you. Besides the usual daily grind, we've
been doing more things on the weekend because now Baby can walk around and
actually enjoy some of our activities. I'll have to slowly share with
you pictures from our weekend adventures. This picture, for example,
was taken at Griffith Observatory. I was showing Baby how insignificant
we are in the universe. I was also showing him that there are different
types of galaxies out there, spiral and eliptical. But my favorite
picture is Baby and Mr. BAW hanging out with Albert Einstein. Hm...looks
like each one have their own theories on Relativity!
