A few years before meeting Brian, Amy found this heart-shaped rock while strolling along the beach at Palos Verdes, one of her favorite places in Southern California.  She always knew that one day she will be able to give it to someone she loves.  After dating for four months, Amy gave Brian her "heart" on Valentine's Day 2007.  

The marriage proposal happened on Father's Day Sunday 2007.  Amy was completely expecting Brian to pop the question in two weeks when they take a trip up the California coast to Carmel and Monterey.  So she was not expecting the proposal at all.  On Sunday, they had been working hard on some home improvement projects and when it was done, Brian and Amy decided to pack a picnic and head down to Palos Verdes Beach with Toby for some down time.
