Brian and Amy met in 2004 when Brian
joined Raytheon. The first meeting between the two were at a
staff meeting with twenty other people. Although Brian and
Amy both
worked in the same building, they didn't work together.
Occasionally, they would bump into each other on their way to lunch
with their respective friends. A simple smile and "hi" were all
that was exchanged between them for several years.
In early 2006,
both Brian and Amy moved into different buildings and
all contact was lost. Then in the fall of 2006, Amy took a new
position at Raytheon and moved into Brian's building. One day,
Amy was prompted by her co-workers to attend a meeting she didn't want
to attend. Reluctantly, she tagged along with her co-workers to
another part of the building she normally doesn't visit. As she
headed down the hall, none other than Brian was walking towards
her. Surprised by the chance meeting, they decided to meet up for
lunch to catch up. A typical half an hour work lunch turned into
an hour and a half. Brian and Amy discovered that they have a lot
in common and they lived only one
block from each other.
After exchanging
phone numbers, Amy went about her business the next day. At the
end of the next day, Brian called Amy up to invite her to watch a play
called "Noises Off" at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.
Brian later confessed that he had gotten those tickets a year ago,
confident that he was going to have a date for the show. Little
did he know that he would have just days before the show to find a
date! Luckily, Amy accepted his invitation to the play.
Over the next few weeks, Brian
and Amy continued to see each other. Brian also got to meet
Toby. That was the true test for Brian. Luckily, Toby
absolutely loves Brian. The dog that hates water will following
Brian down the beach to get his paws wet. Brian has always wanted
a dog and he now has a dog that adores him. The relationship
between Amy and Brian grew quickly. The two of them have similar
goals in life and share the same passions for food and travel.
After dating for eight months, Brian popped the question, with Toby as
the witness.
