LAST BIT OF SUMMER BREAK
Can you believe that school is starting??? I know many parents are looking forward to it but strangely, this year I'm not looking forward to school starting. I guess now that the kids are older, they are definitely more self-sufficient at home, they even make their own lunches (granted they are not healthy food but who cares, it's summer!)! But when school starts, I have to make them breakfast (which means I have to get up extra early) and lunches (mostly for Ahgoo because she's super picky). I also stress over their tests and school work too. Plus, now Ahgoo is on the cross country team so her after school schedule is more complicated. Ugh, it's like I'm in high school too!
Before I stress myself out too much, here's a little bit of fun we had in August. We took a quickie trip to Iowa to see Mr. BAW's family. Although it was super short, it was so good to connect with family. Plus, we got to see the
world's largest watermelon in Muscatine. I thought I would see lots of watermelons on the menus of restaurants in Muscatine but I was sadly disappointed, I did not get any real watermelon in Muscatine. We also had our traditional date night out with my BIL/SIL while all the kids all spent time with the grandparents. We had drinks up at a rooftop bar in Davenport with a gorgeous view of the Mississippi River. Until next time, lovely Iowa!
