OLD TOWN MUSIC HALL
Back in June, we discovered the
Old Town Music Hall in the city of El Segundo. This quaint little town about ten miles north of us is charming and happens to be very close to our work. So we would grab lunch there occasionally. They have a few really good restaurants for a little town. Up until last month, we've only driven by the little theater but had never been inside. Mr. BAW has always loved old time movies and they happened to be showing
Flash Gordon from 1936! Buzz enjoyed it, it was both good and funny at the same time. Even the kids recognized how dated the file technology is but they also thought it was good. The kids also loved the movie Steamboat Bill Jr., it had lots of physical comedy and not too much dialogue, especially for being a silent movie where you have to read the dialogue. Overall, it was a fun afternoon and we'll be going again for sure.

GLORIOUS JULY
The clouds parted almost as soon as we entered July. We had a pretty fabulous 4th of July, we hosted our friends to an
instant pot cook-off. Well, both of our husbands are slightly obsessed with the instant pot and they both had one. So they had an unplanned instant pot bake-off to compare which one's pot was more superior. They both baked with the same chocolate lava cake batter using their own instant pot. The result? I couldn't tell which was which, neither could anyone else. So we were all winners! Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July as well. After our dinner, Mr. BAW took the kids and our friends to see some fireworks while I happily stayed home and cleaned the kitchen with Kepler. He seemed uphased by the fireworks, which is a huge difference from
Toby!
July also brought a work trip for both Mr. BAW and I. So we had to ask Grandma to come all the way from Michigan to watch the kids for three days. All in all, they had a wonderful time with Grandma and made some wonderful memories including catching frogs and tadpoles from our near by stream! We were even able celebrate Grandma's birthday with her this year. I'll share some pictures in a future post.
In other big news for me, transparent to you all, is that I just migrated to another server host. This is a big deal because nothing would normally go well for something like this. But this time, it was pretty smooth and my blog came back up in less than a day. The new server host is so much better and I can upload files in bulk as opposed to one file at a time. I am very happy and relieved that the transition went so well. Before I end this blog entry, here's a picture of Kepler sun bathing on a warm Sunday morning. This dog is the complete opposite of Toby. Toby used to stay indoors even if we were all outside. Kepler would stay outside by himself, even when we were all inside. Also, you can't tell in this picture, but I used to have two chairs like the one he's sleeping on. But he chewed up the other chair cushion and left this one for his own enjoyment. Sigh...
