Bits of February Still Left

As you can tell, I like February better than March. I discovered a set of processed pictures left over from our hiking spree back in February that I want to share with you. This is a little day trip we took to the Paramount Ranch in Calabasas, Ventura, just about an hour north of LA. There is a Western town built for Hollywood and they shot lots of movies there. Don't ask me which movie because one, I don't watch too many movies and two, I hate Western films. But the area is beautiful and peaceful and we had fun running around the open spaces and cute hikes.

March Woes

My apologies for the crickets here. In a flash, I find myself at the end of March! In a way, a flash is good. March has kind of been a drag. The house construction saga continues with an evening of no railing on our stairs...very scary since part of our landing opens to the downstairs! Then we find out that our General Contractor (GC) made a decision to put window frames around all our windows in a style that does not match our house, while he may have consulted the architect, failed to run it by us. Just as it doesn't get any better, we discovered that the dumpster folks dented my car's front right panel by dropping their rear trunk door onto my car. At least in this case, the GC owned up to it and will make his sub pay for my repair. But the worst of it all is that we are coming up on our one-year anniversary of the start of the construction and no end is in sight. We also have a very leaky roof which will need to be re-done. So overall, March has not been kind. There are only two happy things in March, day light savings time (Spring forward) and Ahgoo's SIXTH BIRTHDAY!!! She managed to squeeze in learning how to ride a bike before becoming a big 6 year old, we are so proud of her! This is a non-party year so we're going to take her to Disneyland instead. We've already been to way too many 6th birthday parties this month anyway!

Enough complaining, onto fun things. Back in February, we took a trip to Arizona to see the Grandparents. They treated us to an over-night trip to Sedona!! I've never been before so I was pretty excited. It turned out to be amazing. The most impressive views were actually on our drive out of Sedona at around sunset. I didn't take any pictures because I was in the car and just wanted to soak in the view. But I did take plenty of pictures to share with you. This first set of pictures are just from our hikes. I will share pictures from the town of Sedona in another post. Enjoy!
